We are a community-based school and livelihood initiative founded by the Brothers of St. Charles Lwanga in the heart of Naibarare Village, Kajiado West, Kenya. In a region where children walk up to 30 kilometers through unsafe terrain just to reach the nearest school and many never step into a classroom we are building a beacon of hope. Our mission is simple yet profound: to provide quality early childhood and primary education to every child in Naibarae, while also empowering parents through adult literacy, nutrition programs, and sustainable livelihood training.

Every donation to our school does more than build a classroom; it feeds a hungry child, teaches a parent to read, keeps a girl in school, and helps break the cycle of poverty for generations to come.

We envision a future where Naibarae becomes a self-sustaining learning community powered by solar energy, managed by local leaders, and serving as a replicable model of holistic rural transformation across Kenya.

Our integrated model combines classroom education with daily meals, adult literacy training, kitchen gardening, and parent support because we believe that real, lasting change must nourish the whole child and uplift the whole family.

Founded in response to the educational crisis in Naibarae Village, our school was born from the community’s own plea for change, with families donating land and partners pledging water to create a safe, local learning space for children who once walked up to 30km through dangerous terrain just to attend class

Empowering Communities Through Education and Opportunity

Our mission is rooted in a deep commitment to holistic community development. We believe that education is the most powerful catalyst for change, but we also recognize that a child cannot learn on an empty stomach, and a parent cannot support learning without basic literacy and livelihood skills. That’s why our model uniquely combines:

Sustainable Livelihoods: Training families in kitchen gardening, hygiene, sanitation, and small-scale agriculture.

Adult Empowerment: Delivering adult literacy, numeracy, and digital finance training to parents and caregivers.

Nutrition Security: Providing daily nutritious meals through an on-site feeding program supported by community kitchen gardens.

Inclusive Education: Offering early childhood through junior secondary education (Play Group to Grade 9) in a safe, gender-responsive, and supportive environment.

Our Vision

We envision a future where every child in Naibarae and beyond has access to safe, inclusive, and life changing education, where no student must choose between safety and learning, and where every parent is equipped to build a thriving, resilient family. Through the St. Charles Lwanga School, we are not just constructing classrooms we are cultivating a self-sustaining, solar-powered learning ecosystem that integrates education, nutrition, adult literacy, and community-led governance. This school will stand as a beacon of hope and a replicable model of holistic transformation, empowering generations to break the cycle of poverty, champion gender equality, and lead their community toward a future of dignity, opportunity, and enduring change.
